Not every woman is going to experience symptoms, or the ones that do will not have the same intensity or duration as others. Everyone’s experience is unique and quite individual. Symptoms can range from physical: irregular periods, heavy bleeding, extreme PMS, and migraines to name a few of the most common; to symptoms that manifest in emotional ways such as anxiety, irritability, depression, and wild mood swings. Thankfully there seem to be many treatment options available for perimenopause symptoms. Changes in your diet, bioidentical hormone therapy, nutritional supplements, exercise, and even alternative and complementary therapies such as yoga and acupuncture have all been shown to help ease the discomfort of perimenopause symptoms.
